Donald expected to receive his Economic Impact Payment (EIP) in the spring like many North Texans who qualified for the stimulus payment. But when August came and it never arrived, Donald grew anxious. He needed the money after facing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unable to contact the IRS and frustrated about the lack of answers, Donald reached out to Rep. Allred for assistance. 

Upon hearing of Donald’s troubles with the IRS, Rep. Allred inquired to the IRS multiple times on the status of his payment and was notified of a systematic error that had occurred to a group of EIP payments, which Donald happened to be a part of. The IRS took steps to resolve the error and Donald received his payment shortly thereafter.
