Invoking deaths of two women at Texas A&M-Commerce, Rep. Colin Allred urges Senate to pass gun laws, reauthorize VAWA

U.S. Rep. Colin Allred honored the victims of Monday's shooting at Texas A&M-Commerce on the floor of the House of Representatives, using a speech to call on the Senate to take up House bills that tighten background checks for gun purchases and reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act.

"The Senate must take up our bipartisan gun safety measures to save lives," Allred said in a tweet about the speech.
