Allred Amendment Strengthening VA Child Care Outreach Passes as Part of Bill to Bolster Veterans’ Child Care Services

February 8, 2019

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Colin Allred (TX-32), member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, today passed a bipartisan amendment out of the House as part of the Veterans' Access to Child Care Act. The underlying bill was led by Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26) and the amendment was introduced with the help of Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) and cosponsored by Congresswoman Norma Torres (CA-35).

"This common sense amendment requires the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to publish information online to help veterans with the child care services and programs available to them," said Allred. "I am pleased to support this measure and the underlying bill which will make permanent much needed access to child care services for our veterans."
