Allred visits U.S. Postal Service’s Dallas Processing and Distribution Center

Calls on Administration to End Attacks and Support Congressional Package to Help USPS
DALLAS – Congressman Colin Allred (TX-32) today visited the U.S. Postal Service's (USPS) Dallas Processing and Distribution Center. Allred visited the facility to see first hand the impact of the Administration's changes on postal workers and the delivery of mail in North Texas.
"Whether it is delivering our ballots, creating jobs or getting prescription drugs to veterans and seniors, the U.S. Postal Service serves as a bedrock American institution and it deserves our full support," said Allred. "It was important to meet with postal workers today at the Dallas Processing Center and hear from them first hand about the Administration's worrisome changes and its impacts on mail delivery. I will always fight to protect the Postal Service and I won't let any politician meddle in its operations. I urge the Administration to reverse its attacks and work with Congress to pass a package that ensures postal workers can do their jobs and serve the American people."
Allred additionally delivered a video update after his visit which you can watch here.
Allred joined more than 190 of his colleagues in calling on Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to ensure Americans continue to receive timely mail delivery. In May, Allred voted for the Heroes Act, which provided $25 billion in emergency funds to help the USPS operate and protect its workers.
Additionally, Allred is a cosponsor of the Delivering for America Act, a bipartisan bill that would prevent USPS from making specific operational changes such as; revising service standards, closing post offices or reducing post office hours, barring overtime pay, and making any other changes that would delay mail or increase the volume of undelivered mail. This bill is scheduled to be voted on in the House later this week.
