Former NFL players and Freshman Congressmen Colin Allred and Anthony Gonzalez announce joint district visits
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressmen Colin Allred (D-TX) and Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH) today announced joint district visits to Northeast Ohio and North Texas for the congressmen to learn about problems facing each district and how best they can work together and with other members on both sides of the aisle to find meaningful bipartisan solutions.
The district exchange will kick off on Thursday, August 1 with Allred’s visit to Ohio’s 16th District where the members will tour a Strongsville manufacturing business, get a taste of Northeast Ohio at a local restaurant and brewery, and host a joint town hall at Wadsworth City Council Chambers at 5:00 PM EST.
“Congressman Gonzalez and I know what it’s like to play on a team and work together to accomplish big things,” said Congressman Allred. “Understanding each other’s districts and the people we represent is so critical to forging bipartisan relationships and getting things done for the American people. I thank Congressman Gonzalez for inviting me to Ohio. I look forward to visiting his District and having him visit North Texas later this year.”
“There is a lot of dysfunction in politics right now, and the best way around that is to find commonalities where we can move the dialogue forward and find real bipartisan solutions for the American people,” said Congressman Gonzalez. “I look forward to welcoming Congressman Allred to OH-16 on Thursday to see the strength and pride of Northeast Ohio.”
